A Letter to Employers and Employees Around The World

Employers and employees around the world

Dear employers and employees,

Work is an important part of our lives, but unfortunately today many people have become slaves to their jobs. People work 8, 10, 14, even 16 hours a day, living to work instead of working to live. It's modern day slavery.

Our jobs have robbed us of our time and energy and we have nothing left to give our families and friends. Yet we need our jobs for income, to keep up with the expected standards of living and to make better lives for ourselves.

However, our present work/life balance is not sustainable. Life is not meant to be lived working 16 hours a day. That's not life, it's slavery.

Something has to change. The entire work environment has to undergo a major overhaul. People need to live their lives and begin to realize their true potential in mutual responsibility and concern for others.

A WORK ENVIRONMENT CREATED BY SELFISHNESS

The current work environment has been created by the quality of selfishness, everyone is seeking to benefit themselves - employers are seeking to maximize profits and employees are seeking to maximize earnings.

The harsh realities of many work environments express this quality of selfishness - aggressive competition, long work hours, unrealistic deadlines and deliverables, interpersonal conflicts, tension, boredom, unhappiness and stress.

If you own a company or organization that's intentionally hurting it's partners, customers, and employees, one that takes advantage of others, seeks to maximize profits at the expense of others, neglects the true needs of others, is engaged in usury, charges excessive interest, has hidden fees, is engaged in fraud, deceptive marketing practices, unrealistic contracts with confusing fine print, corruption, mismanagement, misrule and other negative actions, it's time to stop this selfish behaviour.

If you're an employee working for a company or organization that's engaged in the selfish negative behaviour described above, it's time to rethink your position there.

A WORK ENVIRONMENT CREATED BY CONCERN FOR OTHERS

The work environment should be based on the quality of concern for others, seeking to benefit others instead of ourselves.

Employers should seek to benefit customers by providing high quality goods and services that meet the basic necessities for life. The goods and services should be priced fairly without overcharging to maximize profits.

Employers should seek to benefit employees by providing short work days (2-4 hours per day) and providing fair working conditions that create a healthy work/life balance.

Employees should work for companies and organizations that seek to benefit others, ones that provide goods and services that meet the basic necessities for life.

Employees should perform their jobs thinking of others. Think about how your work is benefiting others instead of thinking about what you're getting out of your job.

Don't work for yourself, work for others. Job satisfaction should come from how much you've benefited others instead of from how much you've benefited yourself.

The work environment has to undergo a major overhaul:

1.  Companies, organizations, employers and employees have to work on the principles of mutual guarantee, seeking to benefit others instead of themselves.

2.  Only companies and organizations that are focused on providing the basic necessities for life will exist. All superfluous companies and organizations that don't provide any value to others will cease to exist.

3. Aggressive competition and seeking to maximize profits will stop. Companies and organizations will provide goods and services almost at cost, because the focus will be on benefiting others instead of themselves. All negative business practices will stop.

The principles of mutual guarantee and reciprocal concern for others will change the work landscape:  profits will decrease, the price of goods and services will decrease, working hours will decrease and working conditions will improve.

The workplace will become harmonious as everyone seeks to benefit others. It will become a place of joy and happiness as people take pleasure from other people's pleasure, and happiness will come from other people's happiness.

The entire world is going to undergo this change. Every social, political and economical system will be affected. We will all seek to benefit others instead of ourselves.

Don't hang on to the old selfish paradigms, let go and allow the transformation that's coming to take place. Out with the old and in with the new. We will succeed, but only together.

May The One True God, The Infinite God, The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob guide you.

God is with us and to Him we shall all return.
Carter
