Pleasure

Life is about pleasure.

Pleasures Of This World

In this world, we have five senses (sight, sound, smell, taste and touch) and we receive pleasure when we see beauty, hear music, smell flowers, taste food and when we touch or are touched.

We get pleasure from food and sex, but also from family, money, honor, knowledge and power. All of life is based on pleasure, in one form or another.

The pleasures of this world are fleeting, meaning, once you've acquired them, they quickly fade away and people remain strangely unfulfilled.

Because of this, people chase after more, thinking that more will make them happier. More money, a better car, a bigger house, a bigger yacht, a better lover etc., but these pleasures don't last.

So, people have sought after the pleasures of status and pride. They want to be seen by others as being more successful, having nicer or more expensive things, being more important, being better than others, having things that are rare or unique or more beautiful.

It's all a show, a game of smoke and mirrors. Nothing is based on real fulfillment because it's a status competition against others, as opposed to genuine personal fulfillment and happiness.

Spiritual Pleasure

Spiritual pleasure is real and the fulfilment is long lasting.

When you begin to change your internal qualities from selfishness to bestowal and you seek to benefit others instead of yourself, you come outside of yourself and live in the needs and desires of the people around you.

You feel the pleasure of other people when you benefit them. So you not only live in their needs and desires, but you also live in their pleasures. You sense the pleasure of other people.

Also, the quality of bestowal (seeking to benefit others) connects you to God in quality and as a result you sense spiritual pleasure that comes directly from God. Rapture.

Spiritual pleasure is very intense and it's greater than all other pleasures combined. Spiritual pleasure is a game changer because it eclipses all the pleasures of this world.

If we all enter into bestowal and seek to benefit others instead of ourselves, the way we sense pleasure will change. We'll sense spiritual pleasure, which will transform all of us completely.
