What is power?
In this realm, power is associated with control over others. It's about having dominance over others, subjugating and/or oppressing others, being better than others, having more money than others, having a better car, a nicer house, higher status etc. This attitude is rooted in the quality of selfishness.
Our internal qualities have to change from selfishness to bestowal. We have to seek to benefit others instead of ourselves.
In the quality of bestowal, power is associated with love. It's about seeking to benefit others, doing good to others, protecting others, taking care of others and ensuring the safety and well-being of others. Love is the most powerful force in nature.
God is omnipotent, all powerful. What does this means?
It doesn't mean God sits on His throne controlling others, enjoying how people subjugate themselves to Him so He feels great and important. Not at all.
It means that God's love permeates everything in all of creation, there is none else besides Him. It means that God looks after everyone and everything with love.
If people worship God, give their lives to God or subjugate themselves to God, God enjoys it - not because He needs it - but because it makes people's lives better. This goodness in people's lives is what makes God happy.
God is good, and when we're good to each other, seeking to benefit others instead of ourselves, we align ourselves with God's attributes - of goodness, benevolence and love. We align ourselves with true power, the power of love.
