The quality of selfishness, seeking to benefit oneself with no regard for others, is known as the evil inclination because selfishness harms us, others and all of nature.
The quality of bestowal, seeking to benefit others instead of oneself, is knows as goodness, righteousness, holiness, Godliness etc.
In everything we do, we should seek to benefit others instead of ourselves.
