- He doesn't mean you give up your corporeal life. Now, there are many books, movies and stories where people sacrifice their lives to save others, but this is still rooted in corporeality, it's still a corporeal action.
- Jesus means you have to give up your selfish life, meaning you have to rise above your ego, let go of your selfish nature, stop being immersed in selfishness and start seeking to benefit others instead of yourself. This is a spiritual action.
