A Letter To The Hikikomori Of Japan

The Hikikomori Of Japan

Dear Hikikomori of Japan,

I know what it feels like to want to run away from the world. The world can sometimes seem cruel and uncaring.

Our societies are built on individual achievement and competition, instead of on cooperation, collaboration and connection with others.

We focus on individual profit and gain, instead of on the connection between human beings. We're under pressure to win, even if it means someone else has to lose.

The underlying issue is that we're all immersed in selfishness, seeking to benefit ourselves with no regard for others. As such, we've created societies that are rooted in selfishness.

The quality of selfishness has left us all feeling helpless, stressed, unfulfilled and disconnected from others. As a result, we feel isolated, alone and unhappy.

Our internal qualities have to change from selfishness to bestowal. We have to rise above our egos and seek to benefit others instead of ourselves. If we all did this, we'd become connected with each other in mutual concern and consideration.

We have to build societies that are rooted in bestowal, societies that are focused on doing good to others. We can all be heroes because we can build it together.

No one is ever alone because we're all in this together. Know that I am with you. Know that you are loved.

May The One True God, The Infinite God, The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob guide you, may He lead you and may He show you the way.

God is with us and to Him we shall all return.
Carter
