Obstacles That Affect Your Performance Actually Help You

Imagine that there's a game, simply a game, but some people take that game very seriously because it's all they know. They dedicate their entire lives to the details and nuances of that game.

Now imagine that your parents, who know that there's more to life than just the game, create obstacles that prevent you from fully participating in the game.

You may blame your parents for the obstacles, for affecting your performance, but what you don't realize is that these obstacles actually help you.

If you're 100% immersed in the game, there's no room for anything else. Yet there's more to life than just the game. The obstacles create a space for you to want something more, but you have to want it. If there's a deficiency, then it can be fulfilled. If you want more, you get it.

Things are not what they seem.
