All Family Members Are Equal

In a family, everyone is equal, no one is greater than or lesser than the other, but everyone has a role to play. If a family member doesn't play their role, the family becomes dysfunctional and falls apart.

For example, if a mother starts fighting with her kids, or if she starts behaving like her kids, or if she's absent altogether, then she's not fulfilling her role in her family.

A mother has a specific role to play in her family, she's a teacher, an instructor, a care giver, a nurturer, a disciplinarian, a role model etc. Her role brings stability to her family and her family comes to depend on her for her contributions.

The same is true for a father. He has a role to play in the family and if he doesn't play that role then the family falls apart.

The reason why so many families have fallen apart today is because fathers and mothers aren't playing their roles. They're too busy pursuing their own selfish interests.

We need to understand that we each have a role to play. We're equal, but we're different. In everything we do, we should seek to benefit others instead of ourselves.
