Differences In Bible Translations

Here's an example of two different Bible translations:
  1. New International Version (NIV):
    • "See, I will beckon to the nations, I will lift up my banner to the peoples; they will bring your sons in their arms and carry your daughters on their hips." (Isaiah 49:22, NIV)
  2. King James Version (KJV)
    • "Behold, I will lift up mine hand to the Gentiles, and set up my standard to the people: and they shall bring thy sons in their arms, and thy daughters shall be carried upon their shoulders." (Isaiah 49:22, KJV)
Which one is it - hips or shoulders? There's a big difference between hips and shoulders.

These discrepancies don't in any way take away from the central message of The Bible, which is - love your friend as yourself and love God. From the love of friends we come to the love of God.
