Freedom Of Choice - Becoming A Slave To Love

What is freedom? What is freedom of choice? It all has to do with our ego and its control over us.

Today, we're all immersed in selfishness, seeking to benefit ourselves with no regard for others. This means we're not free - we're slaves to our ego and it controls us.

We think we're free and we think we have freedom of choice, for example, we can choose apples over oranges; but this isn't freedom, it's simply a preference - we prefer one thing over another.

True freedom and true freedom of choice has to do with being free from our egos, being free from the quality of selfishness so we can be in the quality of bestowal - seeking to benefit others instead of ourselves.

True freedom and true freedom of choice exists only on the condition that we're free from ourselves, free from the quality of selfishness, that the quality of selfishness doesn't take part, that we're not present under the influence of the quality of selfishness, that we're above our egos, we're liberated from ourselves, from selfishness, from our gut, from our selfish habits and instincts.

A person who's not seeking to benefit others instead of themselves, who's not connected with others in mutual bestowal, who's not included in others, who's not working for others, is not free.

We're free only when we become slaves to love, when we're addicted to others, seeking to benefit them instead of ourselves. This is called being free.

We need to know how we're being governed, then we need to be free from the quality of selfishness so we can be free to be in the quality of bestowal - this is true freedom and true freedom of choice.

We can achieve this through the influence of our social environment. Our social environment has a powerful influence over us. If our social environment is benevolent, it influences us to be benevolent. We need to rise above our egos, stop harming others then seek to benefit others instead of ourselves. In this way, we'll influence others to do the same.

In everything we do, we should seek to benefit others instead of ourselves. Then we'll become truly free.
