Perception Of Reality - Selfishness And Bestowal

Sometimes I talk about the quality of selfishness and sometimes I talk about the quality of bestowal. Both exist at the same time in this reality, it's simply a matter of perception.

Look at the image below. If you look at it a certain way, you'll see two white faces looking at each other. If you look at it in another way, you'll see a black vase in the middle. Both images exist in the same picture, it simply depends on how you look at it.

If I say that the image is of two white faces looking at each other, that's true.
If I say that the image is of a black vase, that's also true.
If I say that the image is of two white faces and a black vase, that's also true.

If someone didn't understand how you can see two images in one, they'd find these statements contradictory, almost impossible. How can it be? Yet we understand it easily because we can see the two images in the one picture.

Reality also has two images; however, we only see one image until we change from personal selfishness to mutual bestowal and go through a change in the perception of our reality, then we'll see the other image.

In the first image, we're immersed in the quality of selfishness, seeking to benefit ourselves with no regard for others; however, we're oblivious to our selfish state. We see the world as a horrible place and that bad things happen to us, others and all of Nature.

When I write about the quality of selfishness, I write about this first state, this first image that you currently see.

When we change from personal selfishness to mutual bestowal and seek to benefit others instead of ourselves, we go through a change in the perception of our reality and we see the second image. We see that we're surrounded by love and we see how selfish we've been. Eventually, we come to realize that we were never in selfishness, we were always in bestowal, and that nothing bad has ever happened to us, others or all of Nature.

When I write about the quality of bestowal, I write about this second state, this second image that you'll come to see.

When I write about the quality of selfishness and the quality of bestowal it may seem as though I'm contradicting myself, but I'm not. I can see both realities (both images) and can therefore write about both.

My intention is to teach you about the quality of selfishness and the quality of bestowal, so you'll eventually come to bestowal, seek to benefit others instead of yourself, go through a change in the perception of your reality, and see the other image.

In everything we do, we should seek to benefit others instead of ourselves.
