The Aggressive Marketing of The Sports Industry

The sports industry uses aggressive marketing to keep viewers glued to their TV screens. Sports is simply a soap opera with a never ending story line - someone wins and the whole process begins again.

It's very strange to watch grown men chase a small piece of plastic around a rink, or to watch grown men chase a ball around a field, court, or diamond. It's actually kind of weird. It's something children would do, but grown men? It looks ridiculous.

Just because sports is presented in a professional way, with lots of statistics, ceremony, awards etc., doesn't mean it's actually important. It's not. It's a business and it's been built up to be important, but it's a complete waste of time, energy and money - resources that could be better used elsewhere.

Aggressive competition is not the answer. The answer is connection, collaboration and cooperation.

We have to focus on meeting our basic needs - food, water, clothing, shelter, healthcare, education etc. Everything else is meaningless.

In everything we do, we should seek to benefit others instead of ourselves.
