- A 'Bad' State:
- Let's say we're in a 'bad' state, getting blows (stress at home, stress at work, disease etc.) and it makes us feel bad - it's easier to yearn for The Creator in this state because blows soften our ego and open us up to something greater than ourselves. When we're in a 'bad' state, we're more likely to cry out to The Creator and ask for His help.
- So the 'bad' state is actually a good state because it's purposeful - it's meant to bring us to The Creator.
- A Good State:
- Let's say things are going well and we feel good. It's harder to yearn for The Creator in this state because our egos become satiated, we become complacent, we become haughty, prideful and arrogant, and we're less likely to sympathize with others. Our egos takes over and we become trapped in selfishness, which isn't a good thing because when we're trapped in selfishness, we're disconnected from The Creator.
- For some people, feeling good is actually a blow because it's harder to yearn for The Creator. As a result, they prefer to feel 'bad' simply because it's easier to yearn for The Creator in that state.
I'm not saying that people should go out of their way to feel bad, not at all. I'm saying that if you're already feeling bad, use it to yearn for The Creator. I'm saying that we should yearn for The Creator in every state - whether we feel good or 'bad'.
In everything we do, we should seek to benefit others instead of ourselves.
