What Does It Mean To Be Born Again?

Jesus replied, "Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again." (John 3:3, NIV)

What does it mean to be born again? Being born again can mean several things: your internal qualities are born again, the way you sense pleasure is born again and your perception of reality is born again.

1. YOUR INTERNAL QUALITIES ARE BORN AGAIN:

Your internal qualities have to change from selfishness to love of others, meaning you have to seek to benefit others instead of yourself.

When you're in selfishness you're not in the Kingdom of God. You see the Kingdom of God only when your internal qualities are in love of others.

First, you're born with the quality of selfishness, then you're born with the quality of love of others. Your internal qualities are born again.

Some people say they're "saved." What does it mean to be saved? It means you're saved from the quality of selfishness that keeps you separated from God. You enter the Kingdom of God and the quality of love of others. God saves you and brings you back to Him.

2. THE WAY YOU SENSE PLEASURE IS BORN AGAIN:

When you're in selfishness you sense the pleasures of this world and the five senses - food, sex, family, money, honor, knowledge and power.

When you're in love of others (seeking to benefit others instead of yourself), you sense the pleasures of the Kingdom of God. This pleasure is very intense and is greater than all other pleasures combined, rapture.

First, you sense the pleasures of this world, then you sense the pleasures of the Kingdom of God. The way you sense pleasure is born again.

3. YOUR PERCEPTION OF REALITY IS BORN AGAIN:

When you're in selfishness, you perceive a selfish world. Then you go through a change in the perception of your reality and you perceive an altruistic world. Your perception of reality is born again.

"Born again" can mean several things: your internal qualities are born again, the way you sense pleasure is born again and the way you perceive reality is born again.

Life, Death, Resurrection and Being Born Again

The Bible and the Quran speak about two families: the family of selfishness (seeking to benefit oneself), governed by the devil; and the family of love of others (seeking to benefit others), governed by God.

Both the Bible and the Quran talk about how we will change our qualities from selfishness to love of others:

1. The quality of selfishness will DIE and the quality of love of others will LIVE

2. When our quality changes from selfishness (death) to love of others (life), this is considered the RESURRECTION of the dead because the dead quality of selfishness will rise to life and be in the quality of love of others

3. We will be BORN AGAIN, out of the quality of selfishness into the quality of love of others

Family of Selfishness
Family of Love of Others

       Seeking to benefit oneself
This family has a father, mother, brother, sister etc

       Seeking to benefit others
This family has a father, mother, brother, sister etc
       Father is the devil
       Kingdom of this world
       Father is God
       Kingdom of God
       Born of the flesh
       Death
       Born of the Spirit

"And the disbeliever says, "When I have died, am I going to be brought forth alive?" (Quran 19:66, Sahih) Meaning when I am in the quality of selfishness (dead) will I be brought back to life in the quality of love of others? Answer: YES

"Thus does Allah bring the dead to life..." (Quran 2:73, Sahih) Meaning God will change our quality from selfishness to love of others

"He gives life and causes death, and to Him you will be returned." (Quran 10:56, Sahih) Meaning God causes the quality of selfishness to die and causes the quality of love of others to live and we will be returned to God's Family

"13. Then you shall know that I am the Lord (YHVH), when I have opened your graves, O My people, and brought you up from your graves. 14. I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live..." (Ezekiel 37:13-14, NKJV) Meaning we will leave the quality of selfishness (the grave) and enter into the quality of love of others (life)

"I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death. O Death, I will be your plagues! O Grave, I will be your destruction!" (Hosea 13:14, NKJV) Meaning we will leave the quality of selfishness
"Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. " (John 3:3, NKJV) Meaning you have to be born out of the quality of selfishness into the quality of love of others

"Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." (John 3:5-6, NKJV) Meaning our internal quality (spirit) will change from selfishness to love of others

"... the kingdom of God is within you." (Luke 17:21, NKJV) Meaning our internal qualities determine which kingdom we belong to. If we're in the quality of selfishness we belong to the kingdom of this world, if we're in the quality of love of others we belong to the kingdom of God.

"O Lord, You brought my soul up from the grave; You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit." (Psalm 30:3, NKJV) Meaning God has brought me out of the quality of selfishness into the quality of love of others

"He will surely assemble you for the Day of Resurrection ..." (Quran 6:12, Sahih) Meaning we will be resurrected from the quality of selfishness (death) into the quality of love of others (life)
