They're Not Just Animals

Animals are mentioned frequently in The Bible and The Quran. They're very much a part of the telling of the story of man's relationship with God. They're not just animals, they're creatures who serve a purpose, so be mindful of them and treat them well. Treat them as you would an angel, with dignity, respect and consideration. 

Here are some notable examples:

• Jesus is referred to as "The Lamb of God" (John 1:29, NIV)
• "As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened,and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him." (Matthew 3:16, NIV)
• Prophet Elijah was fed by ravens, as it is written: "The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening ..." (1 Kings 17:6, NIV)
